Heather McDonald, 70, passed away peacefully at home in Calgary, surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
Heather will be greatly missed by her husband Wayne; sons Blair (Stacy) and Brad (Lorien); step-children, Wayne, Rob (Linda), Randal, Heather (Will), Laural; brother Tom, sister-in-law Karen (Bob) and their families; grandchildren, Olivia, Ben and Isaac; Dustin, Erica, Todd, Evan, Daniel, Connor, Jay, Jana, Garrett, Peyton, Bailey; great-granddaughter Danielle; and many great friends. Heather was predeceased by her first husband Keith McComb and grandson Kylan.
Heather was born to Thomas and Mabel McLauchlan, raised in Winnipeg and relocated to Calgary in 1980. She worked as an administrative and executive assistant in several organizations throughout her career. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Friendship Chapter No. 125 and Past Grand Representative of Illinois in Alberta. Heather had a love for her family, friends, pets, spirituality, travelling, and time spent at the cottage at Lake Winnipeg. Heather was wise, humble, loving, joyful and compassionate. She confronted her declining health with hope, bravery, and a great sense of humour.
