I am so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. He was always willing to be helpful. When I was friends with your Mom we heard lots of jokes and had lots of laughs. I have lost contact with all of you, I read about how your Family has grown. I hope to make the funeral on Friday.

  5. To Bernard’s Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad, Grandad, Brother and Uncle .
Bernard uniquely touched so very many lives after arriving in Beiseker High School in 1955. Our classroom (and school) were blessed daily with his creative wit, his intelligence and his sparkling sense of humour. He succeeded beautifully and seemingly effortlessly, in his gentle desire and ability to lighten up our spirits and minimize the more tedious parts of our learning journey. I recall in later years, Bernard’s talent in vividly proclaiming the readings at Masses in St. Mary’s Parish. His personal style indeed brought life to the Scriptures! May he be remembered for the joy and love he brought into yours and so many other’s lives. His ‘presence’ graced us, each in different ways. His God indeed, ‘used’ him well. Today he comes to know the true peace he so longed for.

    Family McCarthy
Missing your father, your last parent is terribly hard. We hope you had a good week together. I read your father was full of smiles, so Sheila looks like him? We wish you strength especially for this week, because saying a final goodbye would not be easy.
    Sincere greetings.

  10. Dear all children and brothers and sisters of Bernard,

I am very sorry to hear that your father/brother passed away. I have many good memories of Bernard. Some wild, but many of good advice and help and friendship. It closes a chapter in our lives. I hope that all of you can find good memories of your father/brother. We sometimes dwell too much on the negatives and become blind to all the good and happiness a person spreads.
    Hank
