McCALLUM, Richard George

March 24, 1924 – November 1, 2012

Richard (Dick) George McCallum passed away on November 1, 2012 in his 88th year.

Dick leaves to mourn his loving wife Joyce of 62 years and his children Nancy Medic (George), Judith McCallum, Barry McCallum (Ann) and Lenora Heintz (Terry); seven grandchildren Mark and Dan Medic, Duncan, Brian and Pamela McCallum, Kimberly and Jessica Heintz. He is also survived by one sister Florence Salloum (Albert) in Saskatoon and many nieces, nephews and relatives from coast to coast. He was predeceased by his parents and five brothers; William, James, Maxwell, John and Donald and two sisters Margaret Woods and Jean Reibin.

Dick served in the RCAF #422 Squadron in World War II.

A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through would like to send our thanks to Dr. P. Petrasek and the nursing staff on Unit 53 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.

    I am sorry for your loss. Dicks brother Don and wife Marge were dear friends when I was a boy in Darlingford Manitoba. I have since lost track of folks from that era. Reading the notice has stirred many memories. I remember Don talking of his brother in Calgary. He was a wonderful and kind man as I am sure Dick was.
