March 4, 2014 – Calgary, AB
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Joseph Mazur on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
Mike was an ardent fisherman and hunter as a young boy in Mercoal near Edson, AB, where his father worked as a coal miner. Later he made many trips to Campbell River, BC on Vancouver Island, catching salmon with family and friends. He had a great interest in all antique and classic cars and kept well informed reading up on their specifications in his magazines, although he was a CHEVY man at heart. After retiring from AGT (TELUS), Mike and Doris started spending the winters in Yuma, Arizona. His greatest pleasure was golfing and sitting in the sun visiting his Arizona friends.
Beloved husband of Mrs. Doris Mazur, he also leaves behind to cherish his memory son and daughter-in-law Blaine and April and their children James and Kate; daughter Brenda Larocque and her children Dustin and Cody; and daughter Debbie Husband and her children Kaylin and Marissa. He is also survived by three sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-law, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Gladys Mazur of Medicine Hat, AB.
