John Andrew Stephen Mayerson of Calgary passed away at the Carewest Cross Bow on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at the age of 78 years.
John was born in Coleman, AB but grew up in Didsbury, AB. He worked as a Pharmaceutical Representative for over thirty years and was ranked as top in Canada for several consecutive years. He also served in the RCAF. John was very creative and his hobbies included fly-fishing and woodworking. He was also a musician and an artist, having painted and studied with several well-known Canadian artists from Alberta, among them Gissing, Lindstrom and members of the Group of Seven. John’s work is displayed in private collections around the world.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law and two daughters and a son-in-law, Steve Mayerson of Nevada, Kathy Mayerson, Chris and Michelle Mayerson, John and Ev Mayerson, and Karen and Richard Motyka, all of Calgary; twelve grandchildren, Ryan of Paris, France, and Jessie, Christopher, Sarah, Jenna, Becca, Jade, April, Samantha, Zachary, Stephenie, and Danny; and a great-grandson Hudson, all of Calgary. John is also survived by a brother Joseph Mayerchak; a sister Irene and Hugh McGivern, all of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. with the Rev. Bogdan Sianozecki SDS officiating.
