Lyla Martyn went peacefully in her sleep into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on her birthday Monday, December 29, 2014 at the age of 100 years.
Lyla was born on December 29, 1914 in Winnipeg Manitoba. She was an avid composer, musician, singer, artist, writer and poet. Lyla’s greatest joy in life was serving the Lord and sharing her faith with others.
Lyla is survived by her sons, Gerald, Stephen, Ross, David and their spouses; her daughter Syliva and her spouse; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Edison Martyn.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
