February 25, 1948 – Trinidad and Tobago W.I.
June 9, 2014 – Calgary, AB

Odillo Martinez beloved husband and father went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 9, 2014 after a long illness at the age of 66 years old.

Odillo was born on February 25, 1948 in Trinidad. After leaving Saint Mary’s College in Trinidad, Odillo took courses to repair office machines because he always liked working with his hands. He spent the last forty-five years of his life doing what he loved best, twenty years working in Trinidad and twenty-five years working at Ricoh Canada.

Odillo was a wonderful, patient and gentle spiritual soul who lived a simple life and was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Odillo was always very attentive to his family even though he was very sick and needed the attention more. He was always just a phone call away if his family needed anything and he would be there in a heartbeat! Anyone who met him, even if it were only once loved him for his kind heart and gentle ways. Odillo was like a second dad to some family members. He would always step up and help where he could, not only for the immediate family but also for the rest of the family. He would always be there to guide his family and give us words of wisdom. Odillo had many skills from designing homes, auto repair and a great handyman. Odillo was very sensitive to the need of others, always had your back and would be by your side through tough times. He will always be remembered as a dedicated, hardworking, and loving family man.

Besides his loving wife Ann of forty-five years, Odillo is survived by three children, Roger Martinez, Anne Marie Osterman, and Alicia Martinez; three grandchildren, Enrique Martinez, and Ethan and Alyssa Osterman; Son-in-law Shawn Osterman; mother Veronica Martinez Pierre, eight brothers and sisters, Teddy Pierre, Sidney Pierre, Claudia Green, Laura Pierre, Kathleen Pierre, Mary Pierre, and Petronilla Pierre; Mother-in-law Jane Goodman; In-law’s Helen Moseley, Joan Parmassar, Irvin Goodman, Robin Goodman, Hilton Green, and Angela Pierre; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins from Trinidad and around the world.

The family of Odillo would like to express their gratitude to all friends and family for their continued love and support. He will always be loved, missed and remembered. We will eternally cherish his memories and he will forever be in our hearts.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W.) on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W.) on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W.) on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through
