It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Lizabeth Marsh (nee Gripping) on Saturday, May 17, 2014.
Helen Lizabeth, born Aarhus, Denmark in January 1950, immigrated with her family to Canada at age 7. Mom was a single parent who raised two children while attending college full time, studying both nursing and social work. After graduation, she went on to work for many years at Aunts at Large. She also raised and showed pure bred champion Shih-Tzus for many years. Later, Mom met Ray Henry and over their 20 years together, they travelled and built a successful business at the Cross Roads Farmers Market.
Helen is survived by her children Shon Marsh (Susan) and Lisa Conibear (Trevor) as well as her grand children Logan Marsh and Madison, Delainy and Carson Conibear. She is also survived by her father Neils Gripping, brother Rene Gripping, and long time partner Ray Henry. She was predeceased by her mother Helga Gripping and sister Karin Bach.
A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
