    Dear Bill and family,

I send you our sympathy on your wife and mother’s passing.

I grew up on the same block as Leslie and her sister Gay. Later Leonard came along much to the delight of Myrt and Woody. My sister Shauna was good friends with Leslie and spent more time with Leslie, since she was the same age. All of us on our block played together.

All the kids knew and loved Leslie. Her smile and laugh were contagious and she knew how to have fun. Her parents Woody and Myrt were good friends with my parents Tom and Marge Buchanan. We enjoyed time in every neighbour’s yard, sometimes organizing great shows just for our entertainment. Our parents gave us wonderful Birthday parties and Leslie had lots of mustard on her hot dog. Our parents all knew each other and the kids benefited from that friendship. We spent time playing in our larger group during the summer nights on 24 A Street. We didn’t want to quit having fun.

I was amazed how she fought through the first Cancer and saw her when my Mom died at the funeral home. She was vibrant even though suffering through chemo treatments at that time. She was a

Delightful woman. You will all miss her so much as wife, mother, grandmother, and good friend. Leslie was easy to love!

    With Love,
Bonnie and Bob Dunbar and family
(Bonnie, Shauna, and Janice Buchanan) Bob’s Dad played golf with Woody for many years so there is a connection with both of us to the Huckabey’s

  4. Andrew Horton :

    Bill, Chad & Family,

I am very sorry to hear about Leslie’s passing. The last chance we had to talk was at her granddaughter’s hockey game where they easily beat my son’s team. For the short amount of time I worked with the Markin family I have many, many fond memories of you all. Leslie was an extremely kind, caring and thoughtful lady who carried herself with the class and dignify of few others. Leslie treated me like family and I will always be grateful for our brief time together at Argosy Marine.

Deepest sympathy. I am about the same age as your mother and know what heartache you must be going through. Too young; she had so much to offer. Bond together and embrace the love she left for you.
