MARK, Patricia Mae

July 20, 1949 – Edmonton Alberta
April 6, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Patricia Mae Mark of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on April 6, 2018 at the age of 68 years. After a long courageous battle with cancer, she drew her final breath surrounded by her family and friends.

Patricia spent her early years on the family farm near Mirror, Alberta. After her father’s heart attack and sudden passing, the family spent a few months in the village of Mirror, before moving to Lacombe, where Patricia began and finished all 12 years of School.

Patricia worked at the Ponoka General Hospital and the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital, before attaining her Certified Nursing Aide training in Edmonton. She then worked at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton and the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.

She married Lloyd Mark in 1974, and spent the next several years raising her two boys. She then returned to work in Homecare until her health brought her to an early retirement.

She will be remembered most for her kind, compassionate, soft spoken nature, her love of reading, geography and animals. Last but not least, her faith that she held close until the end.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons and their families; Loren and Sharon, Trevor and Amber; her sister Jean; one grandson Ryan; and well-remembered by her former spouse Lloyd.

She was predeceased by her father, George Jefferson in January of 1953, and her mother, Mina Jefferson in December of 2000.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
