Marcelo, Espirita Alarcio

Mamang is at peace. With her family at her side, she passed away quietly to join her husband, Recaredo Sr. She leaves behind her children, Roger Sr. and his wife Evelyn, Estrella and her husband Tigs Tidalgo, Rick and his wife Nelda and her grandchildren, Noel (Sylvia), Roger Jr. (Rachelle), Maria (John), Joy (Brian) and Ron. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren, Hunter and Carter Marcelo, J.J., Logan and Kiana MacNeil. She is also survived by many sisters and brothers in-law, nieces and nephews in Calgary, Toronto, the United States and the Philippines.

Espirita was born in Manaoag, Pangasinan Philippines. She was a teacher for 35 years before she immigrated to Canada in 1973. She was an active member of the Filipino Senior’s Association and entertained her family with her love of storytelling. She was a very independent lady even into her later years and took pride in her actions and judgments. She is loved and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of the Forest Grove Care Centre for their kind treatment of our mother.

Those wishing to pay respects may do so at the viewing and prayers on Friday, November 26 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at McInnis and Holloway Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Dr. N.E.). The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 27 at St. Mark’s Parish Church (5552 Madigan Dr. N.E.). Internment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
