Condolence Messages

  1. Margaret Armstrong :

I had the extreme pleasure of working with your Mom while she was CAO at the Town of Chestermere, and our company was building the new Municipal Centre. We shared a lot of laughs, a few instances of “butting” heads, but more importantly, we instantly formed a deep friendship which I will always cherish. Sylvia was a loving and caring woman whose passion for life is envied. And, there is probably nothing that made her prouder or happier than speaking about her family, especially her pride and joys…her grandchildren! We would share stories and laughs about our grandchildren and always said that if we knew that having grandchildren was this much fun, we would have done that first! Well, I am rambling, so I will just extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to you…her loving family, and let you know how fond I was of Sylvia and how much of a difference she made in my life. She will be deeply and sincerely missed.

    God Bless.
    Margaret Armstrong (Golden Triangle Construction)

  6. Debbie Aylesworth :

I was saddened to learn of Sylvia’s passing. I met Sylvia at Rosedale Hospice the day my dad entered, July 20th. We struck up a conversation and learned that we had a common connection-Chestermere. Sylvia knew of my beau, Michael and his father through her committed tenure with the Town. That week during one of Michael’s visits with my dad before he passed, we stopped in and spent some time with Sylvia. It was clear to see her love of her family as her room was adorned with family photos and handmade drawings. It was a pleasure to see Michael and Sylvia take a walk down Chestermere’s memory lane revisiting changes made in the town they perhaps agreed with or disagreed with. It was easy to see that your mom/grandma enjoyed a spirited conversation. Although I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Sylvia long I know she was a kind, caring and very genuine person. My prayers are with you.
