On the evening of June 21, 2014, Harry Sylvester Mandryk passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta with his family at his side. He was 83 years old.
Harry is survived by his four loving children Greg (Brenda), Bill, Brett (Karen), and Danny, Grandchildren Brittni (Jason), Patrick (Brittany), and Sawyer; Great-grandchildren Raelle and Joel. He is also survived by sister-in-law Edith Mandryk and numerous nephews, nieces, friends and acquaintances. Harry was predeceased by his loving wife Alma Shirley Watson, brothers Bill and Victor, and sister-in-law Bertha. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Harry was born in a section house in Viceroy Saskatchewan. Always athletic Harry was a member of the Regina Boat Club and rowed in many regattas in his younger years. In 1976 he helped coach the Saskatchewan Rowing Team in the Western Canada Summer Games. Harry loved music. His life always had a musical side. He played the drums with the WaWa Shrine Pipes and Drums band. He was also a band manager while his kids were in the Regina Lions Marching Band. He enjoyed regular jam sessions and stayed involved with music throughout his life.
At Harry’s request, no funeral will be held. A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Harry’s name to a charity of your choice.
