1937 – Regina, SK
2013 – Calgary, AB
Our very dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle passed away after critical heart surgery on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the age of 76 years.
Jack was born and raised in Regina, and had a long career in the oil patch, starting out with Sohio Oil as a draftsman. He moved to Hudson’s Bay Oil and Gas, and then got transferred as an oil scout to Calgary in 1963. He went on to be one of the best landmen in the industry. He was a very kind and loving man, with a wonderful sense of humour, and an awesome memory. Jack’s greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He had many friends and will be dearly missed by all.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruby; daughters and son-in-laws Debbie (Mike) White, Lynn (Doug) Whitten, Cheryl (Mark) Sampson, Laurel (Randy Moore) Mailander; along with grandchildren Jenna and Mary Whitten, Connor White and Jaedin Sampson.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church (541 SILVERGROVE DRIVE N.W.), on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Calgary Health Trust in support of Sheldon Chumir, Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, 1213 4 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0X7, http://www.calgaryhealthtrust.ca/donate/memorialgiving/ or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca.
