Mary MacPherson of Calgary was called home to glory with family by her side, on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the age of 78 years.
Mary made her career as a Hair Stylist, which she enjoyed tremendously. She was self-employed as the proprietor of Tuxedo Beauty Salon from 1970 to 2005. Mary loved hiking, bird watching, gardening and travelling with friends and family. She was very involved in her church, volunteering to cook for the mustard seed and quilt for the homeless. She taught Sunday school for many years, and worked with youth hosting gym nights. Family was especially important to Mary. She could often be found playing games, cooking, baking, as well as attending the grandkids special events. She loved her family and was always caring and supportive.
Mary is survived by her children, Greg and Colinda MacPherson, Charlotte and Joe Levesque, Michelle MacPherson and Randy Ollenberger (Colton and Tyler); her grandchildren, Paul Levesque, Nolan Caissie, Taylor MacPherson, Austin Levesque, Ellie Caissie, Spencer Levesque, Farrah MacPherson, Abbey Caissie, Sophie Levesque, Major MacPherson, and Risto Caissie; her brothers John (Doris) Bornn and Jake (Annette) Born, sister Nellie (Gerhard) Reimer, sisters-in-law Mary Born and Betty Born, brother-in-law Peter (Margret) Petkau, as well as many dear friends, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Paul Daniel MacPherson; her former husband, Daniel MacPherson; her parents Anna and Peter Born; sisters Sarah Born and Anna Petkau; sister and brother-in-law Helen and Ike Klassen; and brothers Peter Born and Isaac Born.
Funeral Services will be held at Grace Baptist Church (2670 Radcliffe Drive S.E.) on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
