It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Andrew Mack of Calgary, on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the age of 85 years.
George was also known as “Corky” to those at Loram International where his career of forty-three years as a master mechanic lead him to work all across Canada and he was known for his continued mentorship to the newly hired. During his twenty-five years of retirement, he especially loved golfing, playing ninety-ninety-five rounds in a single golf season. He was definitely dedicated to the game and enjoyed many hours with his friends at Cottonwood Golf and Country Club.
George will be greatly missed by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Dave Arcand, Marilyn and Don Thompson, and Sandie and Barry Russell; as well as his two grandchildren, Carly and Colin Thompson. He is also survived by his two sisters and two brothers, Lorraine Beiser, Doris Amory, Richie Mack, and Bert Mack. George will finally be reunited with the love of his life, Kay of forty-four years, who passed away in 1994. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Beverly Mack; brother Ralph Mack; and sisters, Irene Mack and Isabel Isaac.
A Celebration of George’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
