LYONS, James Stephen

October 26, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta

Jim Lyons, beloved husband of Josepha (nee Peeraer) of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the age of 81 years.

Jim was born in Galahad, Alberta and was a proud employee of CN Railways for 43 years. He loved to travel and travelled overseas many times to visit family and friends. Jim thoroughly enjoyed his trips to Europe and had many grand adventures. In his retirement he became involved with L’Arche Edmonton. He relished the time spent with the members and made many lasting friendships. Jim will be remembered as kind-hearted and generous.

Jim is survived by his wife Josepha “Josie”; son Jeff of Toronto,  daughter Ria (Norm) of Calgary; four grandsons Roman, Tyler, Nolan and Dylan; sisters Rosemary Lyons, Kathleen Martin, and Beatrice Martin of Calgary; brother Bill Lyons of Calgary; many nieces and nephews whom he loved and numerous extended family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
