Marlene and Family, we wish to express our thoughts and prayers at this time of Wally’s passing. It has been a while since 2 young engineers from Manitoba [Wally and Rudi Harder] joined me as new recruits in Calgary for British American/Gulf Oil. Those were exiting days together with great expectations! It has been a good life and Wally’s contributions to family, community and industry are cherished. I did not see Wally as much after we both left Gulf, but it was always great to meet him on the street. Good memories. Take care.

  6. Mary and Phil Wrubleski :

Uncle Wally was one of a kind and very generous to his family. Each time we came to Calgary he bought so many meals for us over the last 35 years that we had to go on a 36 year diet! We especially loved Marlene and Wally’s hospitality – their home was always open to us. While we can forgive him for being a Bomber fan, we will always cherish his long discourses on the issues of the day. We know you are now with Michael and we will love you forever. Mary and Phil Wrubleski, Saskatoon, SK.

  13. Keith Fewster :

I was saddened to read about Wally’s passing and want to offer his family my sincerest condolences at this time.

I knew Wally well as a young engineer and fellow -Manitoban at Gulf Canada. We curled together for many years when he was single and he would often stay with my wife Mary and me in Calgary when he was working out ot town. Our paths rarely crossed in subsequent years but I have many fond memories of those days. He was a fine young man and obviously was held in great esteem as a father, by his relatives and friends. He often talked about growing up in Winnipeg with his twelve siblings. It was a pleasure to have shared part of his life.

    Sincerely,
    Keith Fewster
