  2. Ken and Madelien Yurkowski :

    Rosemarie and Family.
It was with great sorrow that we received the call from you on Cal’s passing. As you know the strong relation that we developed in our fifteen odd years of wall sharing neighbors will be impossible to replace. My short and almost daily visits were a highlight. On the positive side you know Cal had a very full accomplishing and family supported life and will be missed by many but he did go to his final resting place without suffering for an extended period of time.
You know we will be next door and don’t hesitate to call on us should we be able to help you in any way.

    Our Love
    Ken and Madelien

  3. I was delighted to become reaquainted with my cousin Calvyn on the occassion of his 80th birthday. My timing was impecable in that I hadn’t been to Calgary for 20 odd years and here I arrive just in time for his birthday party. What a warm welcome was given to this unexpected guest. A truely loving and supportive family. Calvin leaves big boots to be filled. My mother Grace (nee McLaren) also sends her loving condolences.

Dear Rosemarie & family, I was very saddened to hear of Cal’s passing. He was always so kind and fair and I considered him and you, Rosemarie, friends from the first time we met at the AQHA show in Edmonton. It was indeed a pleasure to do our horse deals with you both and I still have the Pretending mare I bought back from you back in 1997. It was great to run into you and Cal at the world show in 2004. I always admired his determination to raise good Quarter Horses. In short I looked up to him and it has been a real pleasure to have known him. All my best to you Rosemarie.

    Dear Rosemarie,
I know what you are going through right now and also know there are no words that really are right, to fill the tremendous void you have at this time. Just want to pass on my deepest sympathy to you and the family. Cal was a good, good man, so kind, thoughtful and fair. You two were so good together, obviously really loved each other which made you a very special couple. I will always remember the great discussions we had around the kitchen table after attending the horses. I am proud to call Cal a dear friend.

  14. Dear Rosmarie,
I am so saddened by Cal’s passing. The man taught me more than anyone will ever know. He purchased a mare from me called Leemac Dolly Two in the beginning of his horse industry days. I then learned about people, honesty, relationships and life from Cal. He was a great man he changed my life in a positive way. He tried to support me in a time when I was not worthy. I will forever miss him. I feel privileged to have been a small part of his life. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
    Sincerely, Gord Kerr

  18. Georga Sutton :

What a wonderful and wise man. My husband Raymond served with Cal on the Stud Book and Registration Committee for AQHA. Ray respected Cal for his honest and thoughtful decisions with some tough issues the committee faced. His interest was not personal, but for the welfare of the Quarter Horse. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of the Quarter Horse industry.
