LOMBARDO, Giuseppina

August 10, 1929 – Monteforte, Irpino
July 6, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Giuseppina beloved wife of late Vincenzo Lombardo (nee Aurigemma) of Calgary, AB, passed away after a brief illness on July 6, 2017 at the age of 87 years.

Giuseppina was born in Monteforte, Irpino, Italy. She married Vincenzo Lombardo on June 14th, 1956. She arrived in Canada with her two young daughters in 1960 to join her husband. Giuseppina worked for 25 years at Cross Bow Centre. Giuseppina loved gardening, visiting family in Italy and spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren, Romeo and Andre.

Giuseppina is survived by her daughter Marlene (Carlos) and son Aurelio (Kellie) and four granddaughters; Nicole (Blake), Amanda (Dan), Jessica (Matthew) and Christina (Kieran). She is also survived by her four siblings Gerardo (Giovanna) of Calgary, Vincenzo (Lina) of Switzerland, Antonio (Graziella) of Milano, Italy and Michele (Maria) of Monteforte, Italy; numerous nieces and nephews. As well as her beloved husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Gaetano and Maria Grazia, her daughter Maria and her brother Carmine.

Family would like to thank the staff at The George Boyack Centre, 2nd Floor East; Dr. Mark Addison, Admin., Manager Josie, LPN’s Maria, Helen, Janet, Linda and Rodhora as well as the supporting staff Gloria, Jamie, Judy and others.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
