It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Ceferina Bongalos Lomaad beloved wife of Don Zambory of Calgary, on February 2, 2015 at the age of 48 years. Susan succumbed to liver cirrhosis.
Susan grew up in the Philippines where she attained a university degree and worked for a while in Manila, all the while supporting her family. Susan decided to seek a greater life outside the Philippines where she found employment at Philips electronics in Taiwan. After Taiwan, she went to work in Hong Kong as a caregiver for a senior citizen. Susan decided to immigrate to Canada and used the caregiver program to attain her permanent residency. She worked for the Percy family in Fort Saskatchewan, caring for their children where she became part of the Percy family. After attaining her permeant residency, she acquired employment at the Shell Scotford Upgrader as a security guard. She met a lot of good friends there including her husband Don. Together they moved to Calgary where they lived until her untimely death. She continued on and attained her dream of becoming a Canadian citizen in 2012.
She leaves behind her husband Don Zambory and many family members in Calgary, Fort Saskatchewan and the Philippines. She was predeceased by her father and two brothers living in the Philippines.
