    Dear Mary,

Wanted to convey sympathy, upon reading of Andrew’s recent passing in the Leader Post. Although we have not been in touch lately, have very fond memories of our time at Simpsons downtown and later from Dr. Girard’s Planesview Medical Clinic where we always had a good visit. We are all retired now and no longer hear from Dr.
Girard. Marie retired and moved to New Zealand to be near her kids and grandkids and Trudy and I remain here, retired and each enjoying our 3 grandkids. We phone and e-mail each other often. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, “Doc”, Carol Schroeder.

  5. Mary, I was very saddened to read of Andy’s passing. I have known Andy since 1948 when he and you ran the Peanut Club at the Youth Center. It seems like only yesterday he was completely smitten by the beautiful elevator operator in her dark blue suit, white gloves and gorgeous smile. You were the sun in Andy’s day and I am sure are the reason Andy lived such a long, rich life. I know it will not be easy for you to not be in Andy’s company for a while but do know you are in my thoughts and I pray that may sustain you a little.
    Warmest thoughts,
    Jim Toth

  6. Sonia Curry :

At the early age of 16 Andy became the head of our family when our Dad died too young. Andy has always been my protective and inspirational big brother. I am grateful to have known him so well for so long. As age and infirmity comes to us all, may we face it with the courage and grace that Andy did. He will always be with us in spirit and memory. May peace be with Andy and all of us. Sonia Curry

The memories i have of you and Uncle Andy are framed in your gloves and little black dresses from the early days in the big Regina house and those dinner-pate dahlias from the garden on Everett. The two of you were my models of sophistication.
    Best wishes now and always.

  11. Brenda and Kaye Avram :

    Dear Mary,
Mom asked me to send a message on behalf of our family on the death of Andy (Mr. Lissey). We are warmed to see he spent 92 years on this earth before passing. I remember our visits at the Gregg’s on many a day and how much my parents enjoyed your company and Mike and Effie’s & family. It was in the living room on one of those visits that I asked Mr. Lissey about becoming a teacher; a passion of mine at the time. I think he’d be happy to know that I did become a teacher and now am a teacher of teachers. I have been a faculty member in Education at the U of S for 22 years; after teaching school and raising our 4 children. We hope you are finding a new way now inspite of being without your dear Andy. My mom is well. She’s 87 and bright and eager about life. Pain does take its toll from time to time but she’s a fighter and has been a great role model for all of us. She now has 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Know we are thinking of you, Mary.

    Sincerely Brenda and Kaye Avram
