LINGNAU, Ronald (Ron) Frank

July 25, 1933 – March 4, 2013

Ron Lingnau quietly left us in the early morning of Monday, March 4, 2013 at the age of 79 years. He was welcomed into the loving arms of wife Betty who left us twenty-one years ago and his parents and brother are waiting in line for that famous hug!

Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife of twenty years, Gladys Wilkins; his daughters, Theresa (Barrie) Dunford, Elaine Lingnau and (Bernie Klauth); his son Ron (Coleen) Lingnau; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters Gloria (Marv) Baker and Doreen Lefevre; brother Dennis (Ann) Lingnau and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ron was born and raised in Calgary. He lived throughout Alberta and BC but always called Calgary his home, returning in the early 90’s and retiring soon after to enjoy his family and friends. Dad (Grandpa) loved spending time with his family, camping and fishing, hoping to catch the big one! He enjoyed spending time with his wife Gladys on cruises to such exotic places as Panama and the Caribbean. Ron was a proud volunteer with the White Hatters and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #275.

A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Alberta Fish & Game Association, www.afga.org, Telephone: 1-780-437-2342.

In living memory of Ron Lingnau, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, Telephone: 403-276-2296.
