It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Lindstrom on Saturday, December 8, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Rita was born in San Clara, MB to Jean Baptiste and Irene Bouvier, the second of ten children. She moved to Calgary in 1955 where she resided until her passing. She is survived by her four children, Brian, Sharon (Wayne Robinson), Dale (Sheila) and Michelle (Tony) Doucette all of Calgary; seven grandchildren, Christina, Quinn, Amanda, Samantha, Eric, Emily and Rhys; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Eva Durston of Dauphin, MB, Germaine (Ralph) Gibson of Calgary and two brothers Oscar (Aileen) Bouvier of Calgary and Richard (Shirley) Bouvier of Whitemouth, MB. She was predeceased by her parents and five brothers.
Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening and she was a devoted Calgary Stampeders fan.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Nancy Maguire, as well as the staff at the Agapé Hospice for the wonderful care she received in her final weeks.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:30 am.
