Condolence Messages

  1. James Johnson :

I was associated with Bob through the Watch and clock club. Bob was a great guy, with lots of enthusiasm for his hobbies. His knowledge was extraordinary and he was an excellent source for information on many different topics. He was a good friend and will be missed very much. My thoughts are with Jewel and the rest of the family in this difficult time.

  2. I’ll miss you Bob. There was never a question I had that for which you didn’t know the answer! I’ll never forget your ability to identify Rolex fakes from 20 feet away.

    Rest in peace.

  6. Rev. Canon John Jordan :

Dear Jewel, Please accept this message as an asssurance of my thoughts and prayers in this time of grief as Bob has completed his work in this life, and gone to Eternal Life. How well I remember that day so many years ago when I was privileged to unite you and Bob in Holy Matrimony in St Michael’s Church in Thunder Bay. I believe it was still Port Arthur at that time. That your love was deep and sincere, and your commitment to one another was as you promised each other, “till death us do part” is a shining example to all who have known and loved you both through many years. While we have not been in touch with one another over the years, I never forget those with whom I have been honoured to share a sacred moment in their lives. That God will be with you and bless you, I am sure. In the days and months ahead, with your family, you will be supported and strengthened by God’s Love that has been with you throughout your life together. God Bless you all.
    (Canon) John E. Jordan.

    Patti, Mrs. Lightfoot
So many years have passed since our paths have crossed, but all of you have been in my thoughts many times. I spoke with my mom this evening and she gave me your sad news. I am sorry to hear of the passing of your dad, Patti, and your husband Mrs Lightfoot. He was always kind when we were kids. I know this is such a difficult time for all of you. Take strength from each other and those around you.
    Your friends from afar
    Shawn and Joan

  8. Kevin & Maggie Green :

From the start, Bob was kind to me and generous with his time. We shared a naughty sense of humour and had many common interests. It did not go unnoticed that recenly he was genuinely concerned for the welfare of Maggie and myself and for that, we thank him. I numbered him among the best of my friends and shall miss him.

As I said, Jewel, there is really nothing to say at a time like this, I just hope we have made our affection for you two clear all along.

    Thoughtful regards,

    Kevin and Maggie

Deepest sympathy to Bobs family, he will be missed by all of us.
Over the past few years Bob and I have associated through the clock and watch club, his keen mind and passion for vintage timepieces had made him a world class appraiser. I will always remember Bob and his mentoring, advice, education when someone approaches me with a watch and asks me “whats it worth?”

  10. We learned with much sadness of Bob’s sudden passing. For many years, Bob and Jewel were our “go to” friends on Crescent Ave. There are many fond memories of our family outings, particularly our camping trips across the West – oh! the campfires; with BC label “LCBO” refreshments; and the huge salmon we consumed at Long Beach. Bob would say that from there, we could see the Emperor across the Pacific.
As he did with his watches, Bob also grew in his love of the outdoors and a tree in his memory at Fish Tree Park is a wonderful idea. Also what Bob loved the VERY MOST were Jewel , Patty and Jamie (and eventually his grandkids) Please know that our thoughts are with all of you at this time!

  12. Dear Jewel,
We spoke with Bob at the PACI Reunion and he was his usual enthusiastic self. We shared past stories from Ontario Street and Crescent Avenue and noted how quickly the time had passed. Bob will be missed not only by family and friends but by his community. Sympathy and hugs are being sent to you Patty and Jamie.
    Fondly, Jill

  13. Sandra Lightfoot :

My sympathy and condolences to Jewel and the family and friends. Cousin Bob was the brother I never had -he was always checking on me to make sure I was OK.
Bob was full of life, so smart and logical, very curious, always optimistic, and ready for any new adventure.
He visited me several times in California and we had fun visiting Mexico one time and sightseeing all over L.A. and SoCal.
I will miss him very much – but we know he has gone on to a new and shining place.
My thoughts will be with you all on Monday and a toast will be raised to send Bob on his way. Love, Sandra
