LEWINGTON, Debra Anne
December 11, 1971 – December 28, 2011
Debra Anne Lewington passed away peacefully at the Agape Hospice in Calgary on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the age of 40 years. Debra will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her mother, Gwenyth Lewington, as well as her sister Dawn (Adam), brother in law Bob, niece Jocelyn, nephews Zachary and Nicholas, and many dear friends. Debra was predeceased in 1990 by her father David Lewington. Debra was a graduate of the University of Calgary, earning a degree in English. Although her work was often challenging Debra enjoyed it immensely, holding positions at PBS Systems, Critical Mass and finally Ideaca where she held the position of Consulting Manager Portals and Collaboration. Debra had a special fondness for animals, and adopted “Pickles”, an ARF rescue dog. The two were often seen in local dog parks, and were inseparable during Debra’s last year. Our family would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Agape Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Debra over the past weeks, as well as the oncology and radiology staff at Tom Baker Cancer Centre. At Debra’s request, no funeral services will be held. Those wishing to do so, may make a donation in Debra’s name to ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation) P.O. Box 34160 RPO Westbrook, Calgary AB T3C 3W2. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

I met Debra at work, socialized a bit, but will always remember her for her cheeky smile giving me another perspective and a fresh look at things. Her writing was beautiful, even in a technical context. She remains an inspiration in my own writing and work. Will miss her terribly.
Please accept my condolences.
Agape, Adam.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Lewington Family. I am so sorry.
I worked at Ideaca at the same time as Debra and, although I didn’t know her very well, always enjoyed her sense of humour when we chatted.
My deepest sympathies to you all.
Steve

My heartfelt condolences to you, Mrs. Lewington and your family. I attended Oakley Centre with Deb and we were close friends for many years. I am sorry that Deb and I lost touch and shocked to hear of her passing. I, too, am fighting my own fight against cancer and wish so much that I had known that we were both being treated at the TBCC so I could have offered her my support. On the days when my fear overwhelms me, I will think of your dear daughter and find strength to continue my fight so I can carry the memory of her with me. She was a very special person and I know that she will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Debra is a special soul, and graced our workplace with much joy. Know that she is with us still in our hearts, watching over us in all we do. She shines her light to make us all smile and make each day brighter.
Deepest condolences to your family, with wishes for fond memories to grace you in each moment.

Debra worked for me for a relatively short period of time as she took on a difficult management role. She continually impressed me with how she was able to deal with complex situations with a calm confidence. I always looked forward to meeting with Debra since her outlook on life was very comforting, especially when dealing with something like cancer. She will be greatly missed.
I met and worked with Debra at PBS. She was always smiling and such a carefree person. I am sorry to hear of her passing and my condolences go out to her family.
Gwen , I was sorry to read about Debra this morning. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the memories of all you told me of your wonderful daughter. May you find comfort and support through this time
