January 26, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta
Rosie Mok Cho Lee of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the age of 70 years following a recent brave battle with illness.
Her life was a long fascinating journey, which started in Macau where she lived her early years. She moved to Canada in 1966 and met her first husband Pei-Jen and they lived in St. Boniface, Winnipeg and started a family there before moving to Calgary in 1970 where her three children grew up. Rosie was an active member of the Chinese community in Calgary and worked as a physiotherapist for many years. She was also a dedicated mother, driving her three children to piano and violin lessons for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed travelling the world, especially going back to her roots in Asia. She also took up painting, a result of which was a steady succession of sales of her art at the Calgary Stampede for several years.
She is survived by her second husband Tony; her three children, Irene, Carmen and Felix; and her three grandchildren, Zoë, Dorothea and Oliver, who dearly miss their “PoPo” or “MaMa”. She was predeceased by her first husband, her first grandson, her brother and her sister.
A private family funeral service and graveside service will be held. Flowers gratefully declined. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
