Mel Laybolt of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the age of 66 years, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mel was born in West St. Peters P.E.I. and lived most of his life in Charlottetown before moving to Thompson MB in 1974, he later moved to Calgary AB in 1997.
Mel worked as a caregiver for the Sharp Foundation for the last thirteen years, and they were able to help him through this difficult time.
Mel is survived by his three sons, Todd, Glenn (Kim) and Lyle (Janet); six grandchildren, Dallas, Carter, Bradley, Kelly, Dylan and Curtis; three sisters , Carolyn, Helen (Jimmy), Sheila (Brenda); three brothers, Mike, James (Linda) and Anthony; and nineteen nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Edna (nee Kelly), his parents Sheldon and Alice; his brother Willard (Linda); and his sisters Gladys (Danny) and Mary. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law Wayne.
