LAWTON, Frank Alva

June 29, 1938 – September 9, 2012

Frank Alva Lawton beloved husband of Shirley Margaret Lawton (nee Ilott) of Calgary, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the age of 74 years.

Frank will be remembered for his pleasant manner and regal disposition. With many activities he participated in from hiking in Kananaskis with Joe Kadar to square dancing with his wife and long-time friends Chris and Sharon Bauer, his memory is in the hearts of many that knew him. A wonderful provider for his family, Frank worked for the City of Calgary until retiring at the young age of fifty-five after thirty-five years of service.

Frank is survived by his brother Robert Lawton of Calgary; daughter Shelly Lawton of Calgary; daughter Brenda Lawton of Cochrane; and granddaughter Ireland Lawton of Cochrane. He was predeceased by his wife of thirty-seven years Shirley Lawton (2001); his daughter Pamela Lawton (1974); and his parents Cecil and Ava Lawton (nee Reynolds).

  8. My sincere sympathy to Frank’s family in the loss of such a wonderful man. I worked with your Dad in the late seventies and he was truly a gentleman. During our lunch hour we would jog with Frank along the river path towards Princess Island. I also remember the awesome croissants he would bring to work, the ones your Mom would make. They were the best.
