Arnold passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, March 1, just shy of his 99th birthday, after a life well-lived.
Arnold was born in Burnt Creek, ON. His parents, Emereal and Yvonne, moved their young family out west and eventually settled in Bircham, AB. He married Margaret Romano in Calgary on January 8, 1944. He leaves behind his three loving daughters, Theresa Lavoie (Frank Scobie), Linda Portman (Wade) and Laurette Lavoie; three special grandsons, Bryan Portman (Dawn), Robert Burnside (Rosie) and David Burnside; six precious great-grandchildren, Alexander, Tessa, Tate, Aiden, Liliana and Rosie; two sisters, Helen Haineault (Guy) and Sister Rita Lavoie; and special friend Elaine Fayeski. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret; his loving grandson, Richard; his brothers, Fred, Leo, Albert and Royal; and sisters, Alice, Margaret, Aldora, Leona, Viola and Theresa. His family will always treasure the moments shared and the unconditional love and support he gave us.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
