Bertha passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Rocky View Hospital, Calgary, after a brief illness.
Bertha Allard was born on January 5, 1922 in Eel River Crossing N.B., and was the daughter of Honore Allard and Alma McGarvey. She was united in marriage to Leo Lanteigne in Caraquet N.B. in 1952. Leo preceded Bertha in death on December 11, 2002. Bertha is survived by her children; Claire (Glenn) Gradeen of Calgary, Michel of Yellowknife NWT, Anne-Louise of Toronto, Ont. Maurice (Natalia) of Calgary, and Jocelyne (Rick Dingman) of Calgary AB; eight loving grandchildren, Daniel, Carole and David Yen of Calgary, Alexandra, Rachael and Erika Gradeen of Calgary, Lucia Avilova of Calgary and Olivia Lanteigne of Yellowknife NWT; and two brothers, Leo of Darlington, N.B. and Raymond of Oromocto, N.B.
In addition to her husband, Bertha was predeceased by a son, Gilles in 1993, a brother Hermel of Darlington N.B., and two sisters Germaine Kirouac of St-Romuald Que. and Blandine Leblanc of Hamilton, Ont.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada.
