Pauline Landon of Calgary passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the age of 91 years.
Pauline was born and raised in Calgary and completed her nursing training at the Calgary General Hospital in 1938. She began a long dedicated career, retiring as the Director of Care of Crossbow Auxiliary Hospital at the age of 64. In 1981, Pauline was honoured by the AARN and received the Heritage of Service Nursing Award for her dedication to nursing and her progressive attitude towards geriatric nursing. While nursing as a young woman in Hanna, she met her first husband, Walter and together they had four children. He predeceased her in 1985 and she rekindled contact with a long time family friend and married the second love of her life, Jack Freeman. Jack predeceased her in 1997.
Pauline is survived by her four children, Gordon (Phyllis) Landon, Trudi (Ron) Brooks, Sharon (Ray) Crockett and Terry Landon; stepchildren Robert and Barbara Freeman, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
