Sam Lamont, much loved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2014 at the age of 100 years.
He will be remembered as a very principled man who never wanted any recognition for any of the kind deeds that he did. In his earlier years, he and his wife Vera traveled extensively. They owned several different recreational vehicles and enjoyed camping. Sam had a passion for reading and in later years when his sight failed him, he turned to audio books which brought him hours of joy.
Sam is survived by his two sons, David (Buena) Lamont and Tim (Koral) Lamont; his sister Sheila (Street); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of seventy-three years Vera; his parents John and Frances Lamont; his sister May Miller; and his two brothers, Archie and Ronald Lamont.
A Private Family Service will be held. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta SPCA, 10806 – 124 Street N.W., Edmonton, AB T5M 0H3, Telephone: 780-447-3600, www.albertaspca.org.
