With much love and fond memories we say goodbye to Dad, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Dad was born on the family farm in the Nottingham district of Saskatchewan. He recounted many stories of a happy childhood filled with family, friends and sports.
In 1940, at the age of eighteen, he joined the army and was deployed to Europe with the 13th Field Regiment and saw action in France, Belgium, Germany and Holland.
After returning to Canada post war, he married Ethel Young of Carievale, SK and they settled on the family farm. Dad immensely enjoyed the challenges and the satisfaction of the farm lifestyle. They raised two daughters Sharryn (Wayne Black) and Lynn (Ken Hull). He had four grandchildren, Stacey (Dan Switzer), Landys (Paul Jorundson), Clint (Tanya Sather), Kyla (David Craig) and eight great-grandchildren.
Dad is survived by sisters Ferne and Muriel and brother Wayne. He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel, of 65 years, and two sisters Marlene and Grace.
Bob’s interment will take place in Redvers, SK at a later date. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to CNIB located at 15 Colonel Baker Place Calgary, AB T2E 4Z3.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Leticia Tolosa who has provided his personal care for the past three years.
