KREUTZENSTEIN, Heinz

January 3, 1936 – March 1, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce that Heinz Kreutzenstein passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2012 at the age of 76 years.

Heinz was born in 1936 in Koenigsberg, Germany. He married Erika in 1958 and they have been very much in love and best of friends for the past 54 years. They immigrated to Canada in 1959. He was a machinist for Canadian Pacific Railway for most of his career where he retired in 1996. He loved spending time in the garden and loved to take trips that included long walks along the ocean with Erika. His most memorable trip was the Mediterranean Cruise he took in 2010.

He will be lovingly missed by all his close family and friends both here in Canada and in Germany. He will be especially dearly missed by those of us that called him Dad: Ute (Gerry), David and Bruce (Lorna); Opa to Chad, Karl, Ryan, Christina, Alex, Joshua and Anika and he was Gross Opa to little Erika. We are all better people and are truly blessed to have had Heinz touch our lives with his love.

Funeral Services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church (204 – 6A Street N.E.) on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire memorial donations can be made directly to St. John Lutheran Church 204 – 6A Street N.E., Calgary Alberta T2E 4A5

In living memory of Heinz Kreutzenstein, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Eastside Memorial Chapel, 5388 MEMORIAL DRIVE N.E., Calgary, AB Telephone: 403-248-8585

  5. Mike Griffith :

My Condolences to Heinz’s family and close friends. I had the opportunity to work with Heinz at CP when I transfered from Montreal as an apprentice. He taught me well. Not all was about work either. He also shared some valuable information on life’s lessons. I knew Heinz as a kind and caring man with a little temper to round things out. I liked working with him. I liked him, he was a good guy. I will not soon forget him.
