It is made of deep devotion
And of sacrifice and pain.

For nothing can destroy it
Or take that love away.

  3. Linda Stamer :

How blessed we were to have Auntie Grace in our lives for so long. I believe that when we lose someone close to us they still live through us and give us strength.

In thinking of Auntie’s constant influence on our lives, I remember how she met everyone and every situation with positive expectations. I spent a few weeks helping with her first grade class in Calgary. She was an excellent educator and a well respected administrator.

I have so many memories of Auntie’s smile and sense of adventure, whether it was cross country skiing in Kananaskis (of course there was wine) or at the Jelly Belly factory in California or just visiting with family over a cup of coffee.

My words do an injustice in explaining how much we will miss Auntie Grace. She will remain very alive in our memories. We will drink a toast to Auntie Grace and her influence on our family.

    Karen, Murray and Terry,
I am unable to attend tomorrow’s memorial but wanted to let you know that I remember your mother as a wonderful person and teacher and to let you know that I’m thinking of you. Grace was my grade 2 teacher and I will never forget her gentle laugh when I presented her with a page on which I had written “x = 20” and asked her if it was right. (I thought I was showing how smart I was to know this, having seen my mom and a grade 12 student she was tutoring write it down.) I remember staying at your place and how everyone got up to sing in the middle of the night when I woke up, scared, on a trip to Manyberries. I will always remember your mother with kind thoughts. Thinking of you at this time.
