KONOPEK – Beverley Rose (nee Deadmarsh)

March 22, 1942 – June 24, 2011

“Grandmas hold our tiny hands for just a while, but they hold our hearts forever”.

Beverley Rose Konopek (nee Deadmarsh) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, June 24, 2011 at the age of 69 years.

For Mom, life was all about living for her family and her many friends. She will always be remembered by all she touched for her generous spirit, strength and devotion. Her huge heart and compassion for everyone around her brought her the greatest happiness, but being blessed with four grandsons and being able to watch them grow was probably what brought her the most joy. Our Mom was an incredible woman and will stay in our hearts forever!

Bev is survived and will be missed with much love by her husband Wolf of fifty years. She was a loving mother and will be fondly remembered by her daughters, Sherri Konopek and partner Bill Turnbull, and Karen and Chris Sullivan. Grandma is also survived and much loved by her precious grandchildren, Michael Ruddy, Daniel Ruddy, Matthew Sullivan and Jack Sullivan and was often referred to as their “lifeline”. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends including her brother Butch and wife Karen Deadmarsh, cherished niece and nephew Kerri and Brad Deadmarsh, brother-in-law Leo Boilard and family, and her loving close friend Sharon Lozinski who is like family to all of us.

We love you, Mom … Goodbye for now, we will see you in Heaven.

A private family remembrance will be held. The family would like to extend their special thanks to Dr. Wash, his colleagues and the rest of the staff of Ward 73 at the Rockyview General Hospital. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, AB T6E 6K2 Telephone: 1 (888) 566 – 5864.

In living memory of Beverley Konopek, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.

When I worked for Wal-Mart for 6 years, I always looked forward to my coffee and lunch breaks…Bev always had wonderful stories to tell about her family – especially about her grandchildren!

My parents, Gregg and Monika Knight, and my brother, Greg Knight Jr. and I will miss you forever, Bev! You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

  4. Linda Angeli :

Bev left us all too soon and too quick. For 5 years I worked with her. Had lunch with her 3 days a week and always shared our coffee times. I learned about Micheals snowboarding, Danials football, how Matt called Jack “the kid”and so much more as her Sharen & I took turns bragging about our grandchilden. One day I asked how her and Wolf met and she told us about the dance how this handsome young man came up to her smiled and changed her life forever. When she was telling us her eyes just lit up. Although I left Walmart on April 1st of this year I never left my friends. I will cherish those years with Bev forever. She was a dear dear friend.

Wolf, Karen and Sherri, I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Bev for many years back in the good ol’ Woolco days. She was such a fun loving woman, with a great sense of humor. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, but will remain in our hearts forever…
