To those I love and those that love me
When I’m gone, release me; let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears;
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love you can only guess
How much you give me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have shown;
But know, it is time I travelled on alone.
So, grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.

It’s only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories with your heart.
I won’t be far away for life goes on.
So, if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can’t see or touch me I’ll be near,
And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear
All of my love around you soft and dear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I’ll greet you with a smile and wave,

“If only” tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to heaven and bring you BOTH home again.
“If Only…”

  1. Dianne Knight :

    Dear Wendy, Carolyn, Jason and Cindy, and Taylor
    My sincere condolences on the loss of Honey. She will always be remembered as a generous and loving woman. I have such fond memories of her, as do you all. If you have a small memorial for her when you are in Vancouver, I would be honored to attend. God bless you all. Love, Dianne

  2. Rita was my God-mother and she was one of my mother’s best friends (Paula Findlay). I remember visiting her at Helen’s children’s store and buying clothes, growing up. I loved Rita,she was always so cheerful and positive. I would drop by and visit her at her house in North Burnaby and we would chat at length about many things. She was the greatest woman and I will miss her.
