KNAAP, Margaret Joan

July 13, 1937 – Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan
October 20, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta

Margaret Knaap of Calgary, AB, beloved wife of William Knaap passed away on October 20, 2016 at the age of 79 years.

Her greatest inspiration was her father who taught her to love first all things created by God. Her favourite places were the Rocky Mountains, lakes & oceans. She enjoyed camping and picking berries.

She would like her family to remember her for the joy she had in loving us and ours. For the smiles she put on children’s faces. And how blessed she felt for having known Bill and his family. Remember the joy she felt in giving to us all she could. Remember the hum of the sewing machine, her knitting needles or the work created with her crochet hook. Her joys she leaves to us.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Carrie Smith, Patsy Smith, Lorna Myers and son-in-law, Mike Kampel, Vera-Ann Knaap, Carolyn and son-in-law, Lloyd Byers and Kristina and son-in-law, George Woof; grandchildren, Christian Myers, Kennedy Woof, Mason Woof, Tiana Byers and Rhys Byers. Margaret was predeceased by her spouse, William; parents, Grace Thain and Jim Pearce; sisters, Joyce Harkin and Lynn Greenstein.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Margaret Knaap, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

I would like to give my condolences to all of Marg’s daughters and their families. Marg was my neighbor in North Battleford and a very special friend. I miss her dearly. She was a special lady to me and my family. My children ask about her to this day and remember her in a very heartfelt way. She will always be remembered by me and my family. I am sorry I/we were not able to attend her funeral. Can one of her daughters contact me by email or phone. I have misplaced your contact information. Thank you.
