KLOIBER, Frank

June 1, 1957 – Montreal, Quebec
December 20, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta

Frank Kloiber, sadly, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2014 at Foothills Medical Centre.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda, his five children; Louise (Jeff and grandson Shae), Richard, Martin, Peter, Matthew and his brother, Reinhart.

A born leader and extremely personable, Frank had worked for Shell Canada Ltd. for eleven years before deciding to start up his own environmental consulting company- Amberg Corp. His company was the essence of who he was and the beliefs he taught his children were reflected in the twenty years of growing a once fledging business into the soaring eagle it now is and continues to be. To be leaders in whatever field you choose, that even when you are down in a hole a lot of hard work and perseverance will raise you to the top and beyond. Frank, a chemical engineer by profession, with a love of locomotives, decided to return to school to get his steam ticket so that he could drive the trains at Heritage Park when he was 56. This is a testament to the character that he was, that if you want something in this world you need to work to get it, and age is no excuse. He loved hunting big game animals and pheasants. He enjoyed working with his hands, and spending time with his family, especially outside on the front porch. He will be missed dearly by many.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca. The family would like to thank everyone that has shown their support and continue to do so through this difficult time, and secondly the medical staff of Unit 94 ICU at Foothills Medical Centre for the immeasurable lengths they went through to help Frank and his family.

In living memory of Frank Kloiber, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: 403-256-9575.

  6. Dear Brenda and family:

I’m saddened today to learn that dear Frank has left us. He was a wonderful person, who I had the privilege to know and work with as a volunteer for the CPANS organization. We spoke a bit of German together because of language scholling in Denmark, and many travels through Germany during 1960s and 1970s. I will forever cherish the good memories I have of him.

    Condolences from Kurt

I am shocked….Frank had so much energy and passion…for his family and for the work he undertook, be it environmental consulting or pursuing interests, all that he did so well… he has gone much much too soon.
