Vilma Josephine Kirko (nee Orlicky) of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the age of 94 years.
Vilma was born in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia and came to Canada in 1930. In 1940, she married Gus in Calgary and that is where they raised their family. She loved to spend time with her family, watching classic old movies on her TV and tending to her outdoor flowers.
Vilma is survived by her daughters, Carol Blair of Calgary, Gloria Kathol (Dennis) of Calgary, and Rosemary Wolter (Bill) of Australia; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Anne Lavery of Calgary and Elsie Jackson (Art) of Olds; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gustave Kirko in 1987.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
