With heavy hearts the family of Gustav Kinas announce his passing on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Santuari Hospice where he was tenderly cared for with kindness and compassion.
Gus emigrated from Germany in 1951. He attended SAIT and obtained a journeyman ticket in Finishing Carpentry. Gus worked hard with his hands to provide for his family, building everything from bridges to birdhouses as well as each of the family residences. He was an avid fisherman and a lover of nature. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Gustav is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of fifty-eight years Susanne Kinas; his children, Ed (Denise) Kinas, Eleanor (Rick) Meldrum, Karen (Sean) Murray and Allan Kinas (Melissa)and daughter-in-law Jenny Kinas; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Fred Kinas in 2010.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
