  3. Sending condolences to the Kilbourn family today. The Kilbourn family were special friends to me and all the kids growing up on Canmore road. I fondly recall trips to Windemere for boating and skiing at Panorama, games of pool in the Kilbourn basement and zooming about the neighborhood on the go cart. Walt and Marg were generous and opened their home to the neighborhood kids.
Best wishes to the Kilbourn family at this difficult time.
    Respectfully,

    Brent Harris

  8. Steve & Lorelei Hajash :

Please accept our condolences in the passing of Walter. We came to know him during September in Unit 81 at Foothills Hospital, where my mother (also aged 82) was also suffering from congestive heart failure. She was across the hall from Walter. We had many a good conversation with Walter, and we admired his strength and courage. He is at peace now after making the right decision for himself. My mother is still alive with this terrible disease and has absolutely no quality of life. We are sorry Walter didn’t make it, we were so hoping he would. He and you and in our prayers and thoughts.

  13. Mr. Bruce Wilson :

    Dear Kilbourn Family,
Having been one of our original “Banff Trail” neighbors, I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear of your Dad’s passing. He was always so generous, to allow one of the neighbor children to accompany you, once a month, to the Winter Club. I remember being so excited to receive a phone call from him, inviting myself to go along with your family to the facility. Many of us could not afford that option, and we really appreciated the chance to go. Your dad made that possible!
Your first mom also encouraged us to continue on in cubs and scouts, and both of them were instrumental in having all you boy’s Doug, Donny and David participate in active outdoor water sports with your cabin in the Windermere Valley, LONG before it became fashionable to own out there.
I also remember your Dad encouraging us to become friends with “Bo” your boxer, who was rather large and “scary” for us young kids, but your Dad made us come up and pet him and get to know him, so the next time he bounded over to visit us, we felt safe and secure.
You were truly blessed with great parents, and I remember them very much to this day, having grown up on the Canmore/Cochrane alley together.
    My sincere condolences to all.
