KESHAVJEE, Ramzan “Rex”

January 2, 1934 – July 16, 2014

Rex died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the age of 80 years old, surrounded by his loving wife of 58 years, Roshan, and his family by his side. He fought a valiant battle with cancer, and was supported throughout his journey by many who loved him dearly. Faith and family were everything to Rex, and he cherished his time with his three kids, Muhammad (Rukshana), Nashira, and Feisal (Joanne); his grandchildren Jameel, Jenna, Sasha, Ilen, Maya and Callum; as well as his eleven siblings and their families, all with whom he was extremely close, and connected with on a regular basis.

Rex touched many lives, but that was unavoidable for a man who genuinely loved people, their stories and the curiosities of their travels. His legacy will always be remembered. We will draw on it for inspiration as we endeavour for happiness and a meaningful existence underpinned by integrity, unity and love for each other. Rex was a great soul who gave so much of himself to make us what we are today.

Rex wished to thank the caring doctors and staff of the Home Palliative Care Team of the AHS, especially Josh and Dr. Falk, as well as his many caregivers who demonstrated boundless compassion at every step of the way.

“After we have gone, seek us not in our graves, but in the hearts of man”- Rumi (Sufi poet)

  3. David Johnston :

It is said as you go through life you will meet many people. You will forget what they do. You will forget their names. Who they are. However you will never forget how they made you feel. Any time I was around Rex he made me feel good. I always enjoyed our visits and every time we visited each other I left pumped up and positive. It was probably against the law to laugh as much as we did when we got together. Rex introduced me to Rotary twenty years ago.
Rosh we send our condolences and sincere sympathy to you and all your family and friends.
    We are thinking of you.
    Love David and Julie Johnston
