October 19, 1969 – Edmonton, AB
June 2, 2014 – Calgary, AB
Kimberly Ann Kerr passed away peacefully on the evening of June 2, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving parents Gary and Marilyn, her brother Brad and her son TJ, who she loved so dearly. Kim will be remembered by her friends and family for her strong spirit, even in the face of adversity and her love of sports.
Kim originally trained in early childhood education at Seneca College in Toronto and worked for several years as a day care educator. She then had a change in her career path and became a legal assistant. She took her first position at Centrecorp and continued as a legal assistant after relocating to Calgary in 2000. Her work at Shae Nerland Calnan, Carscallen and Parkland Fuel Corporation brought her great joy and she made many close friendships during this time.
In the years before her illness, Kim took up triathlon with her good friends Erika and Sharlene. Completing the Tri Diva Triathlon in May 2013 was an accomplishment that she was proud of and she so looked forward to completing more races in the future-if only for the joy of spending time with dear friends while training.
Although our hearts ache at her immediate loss, we smile knowing that she will live on in our fondest memories of her.
Kim is survived by her son Timothy James (TJ), her parents Gary and Marilyn Kerr of Edmonton, her brother Bradley Kerr of Edmonton, nephews Henry and Charlie Kerr, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
