Condolence Messages

  1. Gregor and Cathy McQuarrie :

    To Ruth and family,
Cathy and I would like to offer our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Doug.
Doug had a great sense of humor and I had many laughs with him over the years both in Revelstoke and here in Calgary. It meant a great deal to me when he attended my Lodge Installation in 2000 and though our paths didn’t cross often in the past few years I really enjoyed our chats and I know he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

  3. Dear Ruth and Family,

I’m saddened. Doug was a favourite at our house while I was growing up. He was a faithful friend and a distinguished Lodge brother. He smiled and he loved to laugh, and, he was particularly good at doing both. Doug and my brother John were inseparable. Our families will miss him greatly. We send our best thoughts.

  6. Mike Monteith :

One of the most memorable moments of my life, 1981 Revelstoke B.C. Doug made me an offer of .25 cents to be my uncle. I pondered over this offer for about 10 seconds thinking of the bag of candy I could get at the local Red Rooster store, at that time I didn’t realize that I had made the best deal of my life having Doug as my Uncle for a lifetime, along with this deal also came a wonderful lady named Ruth! Doug you are a true angel when it comes to your generosity kindness and compassion, you always took care of our whole family whenever we were in need. We love you and we wish you peace!

    Love Mike M

I remember the 1st time I met Doug as a young employee, we were plowing cable along the highway west of Golden, he was following behind with the passenger wheels of his company Suburban in the cable trench packing down the soil. Later he became my maintenance supervisor in Alberta and we shared many laughs when he was around. Thinking of you and your family at this time, Doug will be missed by all.
