Evelyn Keresztes of Calgary passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the age of 97 years.
Evelyn left Hungary after World War II and immigrated to Canada with her family via England in 1952. She worked at Calgary Associated Clinic for most of her working life. Evelyn was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church and was dedicated to Calgary’s Hungarian community. She was a caring, gentle person who loved everyone unconditionally. Her generosity and hospitality will be remembered by all who knew her.
Evelyn is fondly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law Lou Keresztes and Linda Shantz-Keresztes; her grandson Adam Keresztes and Diandra Lewis; her brother and sister-in-law Dr. Ottmar and Kathie Hegyi; her nephew Zoltan Zalan and niece Eva Palffy and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Lajos Keresztes, her sister and brother-in-law Vilma and Zoltan Zalan, and her parents.
A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
