Condolence Messages

  1. I was very sad to read of Maud’s death today in the Herald…I worked with Maud many years ago at Tenneco Oil and Minersls and I just loved her. She was always fun and upbeat and full of energy. We lost touch over the last several years, but I often thought of her with great fondness and good memories. My sincere condolences to all the family. She will be missed.

  4. Ric and Judy Noble :

    Jim, Doug, Ted, and Families,

We were so very sorry to hear of Maud’s passing. It is only 11 months ago that she came to visit us and offer her condolences for our mother’s death – a visit that we remember with great affection and gratitude. On the last two occasions that we saw your mother, she seemed happy, healthy, and alert.

We will remember her quietly capable and gentle manner, the Calgary power picnics and house parties with her, her teaching our sister, Tracy, how to swim, your parents being at our wedding, etc. etc. etc.

We are, unfortunately, out of town this long weekend and are unable to attend the service on Sunday. However, our thoughts and prayers are with you!

    Sincerely,
    Ric and Judy Noble

  5. Many a decade has passed since I visited with Maud and Doug, but I remember fondly of times past. Visiting my parents, Maud, Mom, (and sometimes other family), and I often had chats ‘across the fence’, a cup of tea, or shared a word about weather or our lives. Maud was always kind and caring and considerate in her dealings with my parents and myself. She has been and will continue to be remembered fondly.

  7. Donald Kendrick :

    Dear Family,

Please except my sincere sympathies for the loss of my Aunt Maud. My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this sad time. I have so many happy memories of both Aunt Maud and Uncle Stan along with Jim, Doug and Ted during our early years as children growing up in Calgary. The many camping and fishing trips along with the family parties that were often held in our rumpus room with dancing to old 33 1/3 records playing on the phonograph. Stan and Maud visited me in Sacramento years ago and we kept in touch at Christmas and over the phone. I called Maud this past December to wish her a Merry Christmas and we talked about her hurdles. She loved you all as well as curling and being outdoors. It is sad to see her leave us as she marks the end of that part of our Kendrick family. Now Maud, Stan, Jean, Ted and Sid, Olive and Bobby are united in eternal peace. I am sure they are having a grand time together perhaps camping and fishing again? I will remember them all in my daily work and life here in California as I think of you all often there too. Let us make a concerted effort to remain linked on email in order to not loose the family thread that connects us all back to the roots of the Kendrick family. God Bless you and your children and may Maud enjoy abundant peace now at the end of her long and fruitful life.

    Blessings,
    Your Cousin,
    Don Kendrick

  9. I wish to extend to the family my deepest sympathies.

To lose a parent is tough, and then to lose the last one, is harder yet.

I knew Maud, from visiting with, and being a neighbour of my parents, Ann and Cy Tucker. It was my pleasure to have known her.

Though we saw her only a few times a year, Maud always greeted our family with her special quiet warmth. She was one of our childrens’ “Grandmas”, who enriched their lives with her genuine interest. The elegance and humour with which Maud lived her life were an inspiration to our family. We will all miss her and remember her fondly at “The Creek”
