Ed Kemp, beloved husband of Margaret, passed away on November 14th, 2013 at the age of 79 years.
Ed was born in Lethbridge and spent his early years in Coutts and Calgary. In 1945, he and his mother joined his father in Bahrain where his father worked with the Bahrain Petroleum Company. In grade eight he went to Kodai Kanal School in India and later to the American Community School in Beirut. He returned to Calgary to finish high school and then took engineering at the University of Alberta where he met Margaret at a school dance. In 1956, Ed and Marg were married and moved to London, Ontario where he attended the University of Western Business School and earned his MBA. After graduation, he returned to Edmonton and started his thirty year career with Imperial Oil. He had assignments in Calgary, Tulsa, Regina, Toronto and New York. He was the #1 fan of all his grandchildren, attending every possible sporting event and musical recital. He was a faithful member of St. Andrew’s United Church. A truly generous, strong and kind spirit right to the end, Ed put the needs of others first, devoting time to family, charitable causes and helping those in need.
