February 21, 1944 – Kamsack, SK
November 8, 2014 – Calgary, AB
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Anne has left us to be with her Maker early Saturday morning, November 8, 2014 at the age of 70 years.
Born in Kamsack, SK, Anne was raised on a farm, leaving at 18 years of age to pursue her passion of helping others by becoming a nurse. Once accredited, Anne worked at the Regina General Hospital for years, before following her heart to Alberta where she raised her family. Anne took a job with the Alberta Government in Calgary, teaching Licensed Practical Nurses for twenty years.
Anne was always strong of faith, and decided to take an early retirement from the Government to volunteer in Pastoral care, sharing the word of God within the infirm. Anne had such passion for the elderly that despite having retired, she rejoined the workforce as a nurse in Palliative Care. She worked specifically in Dementia Units, a terrible disease with which she would later become afflicted. Anne stopped working once she met the love of her life at a later age, Randy Kelm, and the two were shortly married. Anne had both a quick wit and a kind word for everyone. Her home was always open to those seeking a kind word, a cup of tea, and a hug; Anne was famous for her hugs! She shared her heart, and her love of God wholeheartedly with all those around her.
Anne will be dearly missed by her husband, Randy; her brother Harold; her sister in heart but not blood, Loretta; her daughter Noreenah (Lee), her grandson James; daughter Leanna (Kevin), her grandson Riley; her two step-daughters Analise and Brita (Richard), her step-son Mathew (Stacey) and little baby Alex.
Anne was pre-deceased by her parents Louis and Nora and her two sisters, Dora and Mary Skrapek, with whom she can now rejoice within the kingdom of heaven.
Although Anne is no longer with us in body, her spirit will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Funeral Services will be held at Monterey Park Evangelical Church (3125 Catalina Boulevard N.E.) on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
